This space research center built in Kerala is the major research center of the Indian Space Research Organization ISRO. From this center, work is done on satellites and programs for rockets and other space missions. This center was built in the year 1962. Then it was named Territorial Rocket Launching Station (TERLS). Which was later named after Dr. Vikram Sarabhai, known as the father of Indian space. Let us tell you that this center is completely operated on indigenous facilities. India launched its first rocket from this centre. Along with this, rocket can also be launched from Abdul Kalam Deep in Orissa.
Sriharikota is important because
That is why the Indian Space Research Center ISRO launches satellites from Sriharikota only. Because it is very close to the Equator and that is why it is considered very important for ISRO. In the year 1969, ISRO made Sriharikota a satellite launching station. Weather is also a reason for launching satellite from Sriharikota. The temperature of this place remains normal and there is always happiness here. Therefore, there is no weather problem in launching rockets here.
